Shirley
Betournay
Mrs. Betournay has been teaching since 1979, and has been teaching
at Monroe for over 15 years, making her one of the most experienced
teachers at Monroe. She has taught health, P. E., and math.
Mrs. B graduated from Central Washington University, and majored in
P.E. She coached the Special Olympics, tennis, and volley ball. She
is also a Red Cross volunteer and certified first-aid instructor. When
she retires, her goal is to continue working with kids.
The one thing that she likes the most about teaching is to watch someone
learn something new.
In her free time, she likes to bike, play tennis or volley ball, and
garden.
