Cecelia Brands

Cecelia Brands has always taught at the middle school level and has taught at Monroe since 1990. She is one of the original members of Monroe's Action Team, and loves to find ways to make science and math come alive for her students. She also teaches seventh grade life science and has helped to develop a seventh grade food science class, which she co-teaches with Brenda Miller.

Ms. Brands graduated from Oregon State University, and holds both science and math teaching certificates. She is a certified Basic Aid Trainer, and is an active member of the AIMS National Leadership Network. This association with AIMS affords her opportunities to work with educators around the nation who are interested in integrating science and math curricula.

In her free time, Ms. Brands likes to garden, travel, exercise and work on home improvement projects.
