Shirley
Madathil
Shirley Madathil is a true Oregonian. She grew up right here in Eugene
and attended the University of Oregon. When she first started college,
she wanted to become a lawyer, but ended up becoming a teacher.
Miss Madathil teaches 8th grade block and a 6th grade drama class. The
thing that Miss Madathil likes best about teaching is that her students
make her laugh. She speaks French and understands her parents native
language, Malyalama. The five words that she would use to describe herself
are: energetic, enthusiastic, supportive, caring, and dramatic. In her
spare time, she plays the keyboard and sings. She also enjoys tennis,
hiking, and camping. her favorite movie is The Fugitive, and her favorite
actors are Ben Affleck and Harrison Ford. She listens to pop music (she
hates boy bands) and her all-time favorite is jazz. Her favorite treats
are Ben & Jerrys Peanut Turtles ice cream, Reeses Peanut
Butter Cups, and milk chocolate.
If she could have one wish, Miss Madathil would want people to think
about others before themselves.
