Ms. Nelson started teaching here at Monroe in 2001. She attended OSU, Willamette University and is currently attending the University of Oregon. She has been teaching since 1998. Before Ms. Nelson came to Monroe she taught at Kennedy Middle School. She’s happy to be teaching here, and thinks all the teachers and kids are nice. Ms. Nelson chose to teach science because her 6th grade science teacher had a class full of animals which inspired her.
During her free time Ms. Nelson enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving, reading her favorite book series the Dune Chronicles or watching movies like The Man from Snowy River, which is her favorite. She doesn’t have a favorite sports team, but likes watching gymnastics. Her favorite foods are things that are sweet and her favorite color is green. Ms. Nelson can be found in room A-6 along with her pet rat named Saffron.
