1.) Prioritized agenda-no additions

2.) Approved minutes from 4-4-07 with no changes.

3.) Where we are going as a school (Setting Common Goals/Vision)

*Josh and Todd are not at the meeting today. At our last staff meeting, the staff voted to invite them to lead us through the process. Site council will be handing the process over to Todd/Josh after we set up a timeline for the meetings.

*Voted to schedule a timeline work session on May 30 3:30-5:00 p.m.
to set up the timeline for planning meetings and deadlines to align common goals for 2008-09. We'll be planning backwards from our goal of having a plan in place by Jan-Feb 2008. Rick will invite our new incoming principal, Peter Tromba.
**Open to all staff interested.**

4.) Language Arts textbook adoption
Textbook Caravan (Textbook adoption materials examination and meeting) to be held Thurs. May 31 at Cal Young Middle School. Every language arts teacher can go (substitutes are paid for), get your substitutes early.

Proposed language arts materials from Holt Publishing should already be available in our Monroe library for those teachers who want to look them over early.

Literature textbooks: Block teachers agreed to order one classroom set (of 40)
per teacher(NOT per block or per student).

5.) Site Council Elections:
Each team needs to elect two Site Council representatives for next year.
(Add to next team meeting agendas.)

6.) Latino Parent Group Update/ GANAS Update
Most recent Latino parent meeting was held April 17th. Though turnout was good, we're still hoping to get more parents involved. (Personal calls?)
The speaker for April shared excellent info about immigration. (Another meeting will be held on May 11 at Cesar Chavez Elementary discussing myths and facts about immigration).

Paola Massingham (not present today) is working on creating a GANAS (Latino student ) group. She is waiting for University of Oregon to respond about their involvement with our program and providing mentors and assistance.
